REVIEW:

Jane Eyre, a girl full of passion, independence, beauty and charm. An orphan, who is unloved and mistreated. Jane is filled with wounds and pains from the past as she is sent away to boarding school. What is a girl to do with such deep feelings yet no understanding of how to process them? She feels misunderstood and completely unloved.

This is a beautiful story of growth and of course a dreamy love story. But the love story isn't all dreamy. Mr. Rochester, a passionate man with his mind set on the future. But what about his past? He is a man full of secrets and unwanted wounds.

Jane is confused when learning of Mr. Rochester's past. What is she to do? She thought everything was perfect but now... everything is a mystery.

Through finding a new path, she meets new people and finds new ways to love. I did find some parts a little dark and strange but through the journey, the characters grow and even in all of it, the story ends with a beautiful ending.

The book is in first-person and the dialogue is incredible. I found this book to be much more engaging then other classics I have read. The characters seem so real and relatable.

WARNINGS:

Romance // Mention of affairs // Some Violence // Dark aspects

TAKEAWAYS:

This was such a beautiful story! The strong themes and character growth was written so well. I loved watching Jane's perspective changing throughout the story and getting to watch her grow. And I just loved her relationship with Mr. Rochester, it was adorable!

The Blurb

Charlotte Brontë tells the story of orphaned Jane Eyre, who grows up in the home of her heartless aunt, enduring loneliness and cruelty. This troubled childhood strengthens Jane's natural independence and spirit - which prove necessary when she finds employment as a governess to the young ward of Byronic, brooding Mr Rochester. As her feelings for Rochester develop, Jane gradually uncovers Thornfield Hall's terrible secret, forcing her to make a choice. Should she stay with Rochester and live with the consequences, or follow her convictions - even if it means leaving the man she loves? A novel of intense power and intrigue, Jane Eyre dazzled readers with its passionate depiction of a woman's search for equality and freedom.

About the Author

Charlotte Brontë was an English novelist, the eldest out of the three famous Brontë sisters whose novels have become standards of English literature. Emily Brontë and Anne Brontë.

Charlotte Brontë was born in Thornton, Yorkshire, England, the third of six children, to Patrick Brontë (formerly "Patrick Brunty"), an Irish Anglican clergyman, and his wife, Maria Branwell. In April 1820 the family moved a few miles to Haworth, a remote town on the Yorkshire moors, where Patrick had been appointed Perpetual Curate. This is where the Brontë children would spend most of their lives. Maria Branwell Brontë died from what was thought to be cancer on 15 September 1821, leaving five daughters and a son to the care of her spinster sister Elizabeth Branwell, who moved to Yorkshire to help the family.
