REVIEW:
The minute I started this book I was immediately captured by the characters. Being a dual POV we get to see both Claire and Peter’s perspectives throughout the whole book. Normally this bothers me, however in this story, I was so locked in that I loved both of them so much the moment I met them. Kara Swanson did a wonderful job.
This book is so detailed and there are so many things that tie together that you would have never thought. You never know who to trust but you always know who to love. It's a love/hate relationship with every character, good or bad.
Peter is so fun but he does drive me crazy sometimes because he is super self-centered and doesn't really think. And then there is Claire, who thinks too much. She is super sweet but she is afraid of a lot of things because of trauma in her past. Through all the pain and heartache, there is love and hope.
Dust is such a beautiful story of love, trust, faith and light about the boy who never wanted to grow up and the girl who grew up too fast. After I finished it I was so in awe from how good this was and wanted to start the next book immediately. Such a great story, I would definitely read it again and again and again.

TAKEAWAYS:
One of my favorite things about this book is that no matter how much pain Peter and Claire were in, the themes of the light that always outshined the darkness was so bright and beautiful it had me crying right with the characters. I thought it was so cool that Peter and Claire both helped each other grow in their own ways. What a fascinating story!
The truth about Neverland is far more dangerous than a fairy tale.
Claire Kenton believes the world is too dark for magic to be real—since her twin brother was stolen away as a child. Now Claire's desperate search points to London... and a boy who shouldn't exist.
Peter Pan is having a beastly time getting back to Neverland. Grounded in London and hunted by his own Lost Boys, Peter searches for the last hope of restoring his crumbling island: a lass with magic in her veins.
The girl who fears her own destiny is on a collision course with the boy who never wanted to grow up. The truth behind this fairy tale is about to unravel everything Claire thought she knew about Peter Pan—and herself.
Kara Swanson writes stories about fairy tales and fiery souls. She spent her childhood a little like a Lost Girl, running barefoot through lush green jungles which inspired her award-winning Peter Pan retellings, Dust and Shadow.
She is also the cofounder of the Author Conservatory, where she has the honor of teaching young writers to craft sustainable author careers.
You’ll find Kara with her toes in California sand as a SoCal resident, belting Broadway show tunes on weekend drives to Disneyland with her delightfully nerdy husband, or chatting about magic and mayhem on Instagram
